felting 101

It's been such a treat teaching Felting at the Textile Arts Center lately. It's one of my favorite processes, and it's such a joy to share it with students and see them get hooked on the simple pleasure of creating felt. I'll be teaching workshops (longer 12 hour courses, and some shorter 3 hour night classes) throughout the year, so check the schedule to register. We cover the wet felting method, various fulling techniques, three-dimensional felting, basic needle felting, and I demonstrate the big industrial felting machine that we have at TAC. We work with both alpaca and wool in the classes so students can get a feel for different types of fiber. But, we all know where my heart lies...  :)
